Experienced 2D Motion Design Specialist

Partime/Fulltime 24h - 40h Flexmote

Let’s get straight to the point: we are creative, full of ambition, and, despite our successes, we are only just getting started. We strive for the ultimate combination of freedom, quality, and (self) development and are looking for a passionate creative mind who wants to build and dream with us. For you of course in an animated way, and hold on to something because this will be a bumpy ride!

BEWYRD is a creative young agency specialising in various aspects of the world of animation. An international portfolio of partners and projects, combined with our own lab projects, makes for a nice triad split between partners, the company, and most important: you and your colleagues! Creative freedom, challenge, (self) development, dedication, and transparency are the foundation of our company and elements that we find in all facets and everyone who works with us. The creative ambition we look for in our colleagues comes naturally with a healthy level of responsibility, which enables us to get the best out of ourselves and each other! A close-knit team, consisting of passionate individuals with specific areas of expertise who work with the same ambition every day to ensure that every day becomes a little better and more fun.

Your role:

A project starts with a concept, and although this is not your primary responsibility, we do like it when you think about it because ideally, you will create the basis of the concept together with the team that you will be working on in terms of motion design. After all, you’re a fan of visual storytelling and know better than anyone how to add life to bad-ass illustrations! Sometimes you’ll be working on a futuristic design for an e-sports concept, sometimes an absurd playground animation will pop up in between, and then you’ll be unleashing your youthful imagination on a toy or music campaign. Besides projects with these kinds of partners, we try to devote part of our time to social (good) causes and personal Playground projects. One important common denominator in every project: every project should contain at least one new element or skill, as we always want to keep growing.
Let’s see what you will be doing :

  • Co-defining and evolving our motion design style, for both internal and external projects.
  • We have just finished rebranding, but that does not mean we are sitting still. Our own projects receive a lot of attention, so we can face the world from a continuously innovative perspective. We, therefore, hope that the team will actively contribute to this, as a runnin’ gag, but with a serious wink!
  • Thinking about visual direction, Playground projects, and other animation concepts.
  • Creation of concepts and motion graphics. Frame-by-frame would also be a nice addition.
  • We are always innovating, and you strive to deliver unparalleled quality every time. At the same time, it is nice if you can estimate what is possible within the deadlines we set together. After all, our partners also have wishes and deadlines.

You have:

  • Bachelor working and thinking level.
  • You have several years of experience in the motion design and graphic world.
  • Thorough knowledge of the English language, Dutch is not required but is a plus.
  • Strong portfolio with a diversity of work and skills.
  • Adobe After Effects is your second home, the rest of the suite is also fine, but not a must.
  • Nice to have: experience with various plugins, unreal engine, character animation, and traditional animation

Furthermore, you are/have:

  • Obsessed with (motion) design, animation, and media. It’s even better if you’re up to date with developments in the field of visual media, art & design, and everything the future may bring. So, for example, you know what’s going on at Playgrounds and/or similar events.
  • The courage to look around you and draw inspiration from your surroundings, (technological) developments, and make surprising connections in these. In addition, you know the difference between ‘copying’ and ‘taking inspiration from’.
  • Open-minded and trying to make something of everything! Let’s face it, there are always more and less inspiring projects. We strive for a good balance between challenge, development, and interesting subjects, but sometimes there are projects that are less satisfying than hoped for. You also enjoy taking on these jobs, because social media and explainers can make a difference to others.
  • The ability to translate complex briefings into unexpected results, preferably to amaze everyone around us, in a positive sense of course!
  • Willing to help build an environment that continues to inspire others and where you take the responsibility yourself. This also means that you try to improve yourself every time.
  • Willing to work at our office in ‘s-Hertogenbosch a few times a week. As long as we feel that your skills and personality fit into the team, we can work around anything. After all, your future colleagues live all over the country.

What can we offer you?

  • Salary of 2000/2750 Euros for 40 hours of work per week, depending on experience.
  • We want you to take 25 days of holiday a year. Do you need more? In consultation everything is possible!
  • 24 to 40 hours, flexible scheduling. There are a number of fixed moments where we like to involve the team, so we can match time, focus, and creativity. As long as we meet the jointly agreed deadlines, you won’t hear from us!
  • Self-development is central, this is actively encouraged, where we set goals together and implement Playground projects to contribute to this.
  • Annual fixed allowance to promote sport, healthy body, healthy mind!
  • Laptop, joystick, and all the gear you need to pop.
  • We strive for a good flexmote balance between working in the office and from home, as long as we can build together.
  • Cool workplace in the Gruyter Fabriek in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, easy parking and not far from the station. The Gruyter Fabriek also has a cosy brasserie where we go for lunch with the team every week.
  • Traversing with a diverse portfolio of (international) partners and internal Playground projects. These are the projects that nobody asked for, but which are indispensable to tickle our society’s creativity.
  • An attractive pension plan via Brand New Day.
  • Now that the world news has beaten Corona, we hope to be able to organise a Playground day (read: team event) every quarter again!
  • Last but not least: a young and open team, driven by ambition and the urge to build and surprise!
